Employment advice and guidance

EBCF offers a range of services to help you find work and succeed in it. Our trained advisers are skilled in using a range of sources to search for job vacancies on your behalf, so we can find the opportunities that are best for you. We can also help you with applying for jobs, walking you through application procedures either on computer or pen-and-paper forms.

If it is a quality CV you need, we can help you create that also. We provide templates that guide you through the process and ensure you don't miss anything out, and we will proof-read your CV.

Adult Literacy and Numeracy Qualifications

We can deliver Learndirect qualifications in adult Literacy and Numeracy. These are available up to level 2, which is equivalent to a GCSE at a grade A*-C.

You study the course at your own pace, and can learn either independently using the learndirect website, or can arrange one-to-one sessions where one of our staff will guide you through your studies and help with any questions you have.

If you are planning on learning with us, read our Learner Handbook

NVQs

We provide a variety of NVQs. Customer Service, Business and Administration, Taxi and Private Hire Driving, Childcare, and the ITQ are all offered at Level 2, while Advice and Guidance can be studied at Level 3.

UK Online Centre

The Jet Shop is a UK Online Centre. This means we provide free computer and internet access. No registration is required, simply turn up when we are open and ask to use one of our computers. We can also provide courses in basic computer usage.

Life in the UK Test

You can take the Life in the UK Test, required for those who want to settle in the UK or become a British citizen, at the Jet Shop. We offer morning or afternoon tests Monday to Thursday, and two morning sessions on Friday. Tests are taken in our dedicated exam room.
