The JET Shop is our original site, established 18 years ago. Located on the bustling Alum Rock Road, it provides a wide range of services to help the local community. JET is an acronym for Jobs, Enterprise, Training, reflecting the original and still primary focus of the JET Shop.

The JET Shop has a staff of several highly-qualified advisers, available to help you with finding work. It also has two computer suites, one for general internet and computer usage, and a second dedicated for tests and exams. Printing, photocopying, and scanning facilities are available.

Getting there

By road: Use the Directions tool on the left to get driving directions. If using satnav, input the postcode above.
Parking can be a problem at the JET SHOP. We strongly advise against parking on the Alum Rock Road; traffic wardens are active and will issue tickets. You can park in one of the pay-and-display car parks along the road, or on a side street.

By bus: Services 14 and 26 run regularly from the city centre and stops on the Alum Rock Road. Services 8, 55, and 94 stop at Saltley Gate roundabout, about 5 minutes walk from the JET Shop.

By rail: Adderley Park is the nearest station, about 5-10 minutes walk from the JET Shop. It is on the Birmingham New Street - Coventry line.

Community Resource Centre

Crown Building, 260 Dudley Road, Winson Green, Birmingham B18 4HL

The Crown Building is our brand-new Community Resource Centre in Winson Green. It provides a similar range of services to those at the JET Shop.

Formerly a bank, the Crown Building was opened as a Community Resource Centre by EBCF in spring of 2010, and has. The Crown Building has its own team of advisers. Like the JET Shop, it offers public computer facilities.

Women's and Children's Centre

Norton Hall, Ralph Road, Saltley, Birmingham B8 1NA

Norton Hall is a centre provided specifically for women, and staffed primarily by women. A variety of training is offered there, including Driving Theory tuition, Basic Skills (Literacy and Numeracy), and more.

Getting There: Norton Hall is about two minutes' walk from the JET Shop, so the directions given for there also apply. Norton Hall has off-street parking.

Sahaara School

Ralph Road, Saltley, Birmingham B8 1NA

Sahaara is an independent school providing education for children 11-16 years old who have had difficulties in mainstream education. Sahaara has its own website, www.sahaara.org.uk.
