Commitment to Social Value | East Birmingham Community Forum Limited

Commitment to Social Value

EBCF believes and promotes opportunities for all, regardless of academic starting point or access to funding.

As a community organisation, we aim to strive for the relief of poverty, unemployment, low levels of literacy, numeracy and communication, and isolated experience within the City of Birmingham and surrounding areas, especially Alum Rock, Bordesley Green, Ladywood, Small Heath, Sparkbrook and Soho and Victoria.

We aim to advance job creation, job retention, and economic regeneration through the promotion of economic activity, local enterprise and business activities, and to promote and facilitate the establishment of community and co-operative enterprises.

We are keen to further our promotion and establishment of social projects, for example our non-funded Ukrainian Outreach Project (in partnership with Solihull Metropolitan Council), for the advancement of community integration, good health (physical and mental), independent living, family values, and social mobility.

A parent should not be nervous about attending their child’s school parents evening due to social mobility issues and/or language barriers.

The promotion of language acquisition across the region equally enables the provision of leisure and recreational activities and, following EBCF’s acquisition of the Summerfield Community Centre, we will promote more than training courses, utilising acquired gym space, dance classes, canteens, and both indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

Whilst education, training, and rehabilitation is at the forefront of what we do, EBCF develop advisory, counselling, administrative, professional and technological support for the furtherance of the objectives of the company. The National Careers Service specialise in all areas, including industry-specific accreditation.

Our mission is to help as many people as possible, listening to their needs and the needs of employers across the region, as a way of collaboratively working together to achieve shared goals.

Our vision is to position EBCF as a confident, trusted, fully inclusive and forward-thinking organisation; one who inspires people to realise their ambition through persistence, resilience and effort.

Our values fully align with the fundamental British Values underpinning what it is to be a citizen in a modern and diverse Great Britain. These values are Democracy, Rule of Law, Respect and Tolerance, and Individual Liberty. We also fully promote self-care as part of our Individual Liberty value.
